The session

Gentle energy work with the atlas

Gentle energy work around the atlas, the first cervical vertebra that links the head to the spine. Human energetics is an independent free trade in Austria; I work with fine touch alone: no adjusting, no pressure, no devices.

Fine, gentle touch addresses the atlas. The aim is to accompany the body in its own balance and well-being – entirely without adjusting, without pressure and without devices.

The sessions at Atlaspraxis Seeham stand in the tradition of Atlaslogie, a gentle, energetic method for the natural alignment of the atlas founded in 1994 by the Swiss practitioner Walter Landis.

During the session you lie or sit comfortably, the touch is barely perceptible, and at the end there is time to sense how you feel.

The atlas

The topmost cervical vertebra

The atlas (C1) is the first cervical vertebra – the head rests on it. Together with the second vertebra, the axis (C2), it forms the joint that lets us turn our head: roughly half of the neck's rotation happens here.

Gentle atlas work pays particular attention to this area – carefully, without any manipulation and without pressure.

What a session can support you with

Atlas work is complementary and energetic. It does not replace medical diagnosis or treatment and makes no promise of healing. As a complement, it can contribute to your well-being – for example with:

upright posture in everyday lifeinner calmrelaxationwell-beinga counterbalance to long hours sittingbalance
Gentle rather than abrupt

Not chiropractic, no adjusting

The atlas work I offer is purely energy work. Nothing is manipulated and nothing is adjusted – there is no sudden thrust and there are no devices, only gentle touch. Impulses delivered by instrument, as some other methods use, play no part either.

The gentle atlas work of Atlaspraxis Seeham is not chiropractic: nothing is adjusted, nothing is manipulated, and no devices are used. The session is a form of energetic support; it does not replace medical diagnosis or treatment and makes no promise of healing.

How many sessions make sense?

That varies from person to person. Many clients come at shorter intervals to begin with and later as they feel the need. We talk it through together – no fixed programme and no obligation.

What is the atlas?

The atlas is the uppermost cervical vertebra. It carries the head and forms the mobile link between the skull and the spine. It takes its name from the Titan Atlas of Greek mythology, who bears the vault of the heavens. Its central position makes it a particular area for gentle, energetic body work.

What is gentle atlas work?

Gentle atlas work is an energetic session around the first cervical vertebra. The touch is light, without adjusting, pressure or devices. The aim is to accompany the body in its own balance and well-being. It is not chiropractic and does not replace medical treatment.
